Report a Cyber Incident
⚠ If you are experiencing an active cyber incident, call our emergency hotline immediately: +91 91080 15170
eNeoteric's incident response team is available 24×7 to help you contain breaches, preserve evidence, and recover operations. Use this page to report an incident or engage our response team — every hour of attacker dwell time increases the damage.
Immediate steps — do this now
1. Do NOT power off affected systems
Powering off destroys volatile memory containing malware artefacts, active network connections, and encryption keys that are critical for investigation and, in some ransomware cases, decryption. Isolate systems from the network instead.
2. Isolate affected systems from the network
Disconnect affected machines from the network (unplug the cable or disable the network adapter) without powering them off. This stops attacker lateral movement and data exfiltration while preserving forensic evidence.
3. Do not communicate via potentially compromised systems
If your email server or internal communications may be compromised, use personal devices and personal email for incident communications. Assume the attacker may be monitoring your internal systems.
4. Call eNeoteric
Call our incident hotline at +91 91080 15170. A senior responder will engage immediately, guide you through additional immediate steps, and dispatch a team.
What to tell us when you call
- What you observed — error messages, ransom notes, unusual system behaviour, alerts from security tools
- When you first noticed the issue and when you believe it may have started
- How many systems appear to be affected and what they are (servers, workstations, cloud, OT)
- Whether any data appears to have been accessed or exfiltrated
- Whether you have an active IR retainer with eNeoteric (this determines our response priority)
Frequently asked questions
- Is the emergency hotline really available 24×7?
- Yes. Our incident hotline is staffed by on-call senior responders around the clock, 365 days a year. You will reach a human — not a voicemail or answering service — within 3 rings during business hours, and within the on-call SLA at other times (typically under 5 minutes).
- How quickly can eNeoteric have someone on-site?
- We can have a responder on-site within 2–4 hours in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, and Lucknow. For other locations, we aim for same-day on-site deployment for critical incidents. Remote forensic acquisition can begin within 30 minutes of engagement authorisation.
- We don't have an IR retainer — can you still help us?
- Yes. We accept emergency engagements without a prior retainer. Retainer customers receive priority scheduling, pre-negotiated rates, and faster SLAs — but we will not refuse to help an organisation under active attack. Contact our hotline and we will begin commercial discussions in parallel with response.
- Do I need to report this incident to CERT-In?
- Most organisations in regulated sectors (BFSI, healthcare, telecom, government) are required to report cybersecurity incidents to CERT-In within 6 hours under CERT-In's 2022 directions. eNeoteric will assist you in preparing and filing the CERT-In notification as part of our incident response engagement.
